About the Conference

Hosted by Budi Luhur University, Jakarta, in collaboration with The Jakarta Architecture Consortium, ICSS-Arch 2026 provides a dynamic interdisciplinary forum for the global exchange of knowledge. As we confront the urgent realities of climate change and rapid urbanization, this seminar aims to foster dialogues that synthesize cutting-edge smart technologies with the time-tested wisdom of vernacular architecture.

 Themes and Tracks

We invite abstract and full-paper submissions focusing on (but not limited to) the following key sub-themes:

  • Smart & Resilient Infrastructure: Exploring BIM and Digital Twin applications for enhancing energy efficiency in the built environment.
  • Vernacular Wisdom 2.0: Modernizing local Indonesian traditional construction methods and passive design principles through smart technology integration.
  • Urban Metabolism: Addressing critical urban issues such as the Urban Heat Island effect and flood management through data-driven urban planning.
  • Regenerative Design: Proposing net-positive impact building strategies, circular economy models, and architectural solutions that actively restore the environment.

Important Submission Guidelines

All manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Papers must adhere to the conference's formal layout and citation formatting (detailed templates will be provided upon acceptance). Submission implies the author's agreement to present the paper in person at the conference (either physically or virtually via our hybrid system).

  • Final Conference Date: November 25, 2026 (Hybrid System)
